Dear Customers,

Following the catastrophic fire at Safehouse Self-Storage on September 18, we are now – as promised – in the process of sending out refunds on deposits and pre-paid rent.

The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, and we are continuing to work closely with them, and the loss adjusters.

For those customers who had insurance in place through Safehouse, which was purchased as part of their licensing agreement, insurers are now processing these claims.  Please contact insurers’ appointed representatives at or on 01388 612 149 and they will contact you to assist with any claims or insurance related enquiries.

We would like to take this opportunity to reiterate our firm commitment to keep you up to date as the details of the incident become clearer.

The fire was completely unprecedented in our experience, and it has been a bitter and shocking blow. Our thoughts are with everyone whose belongings have been lost as a result, and we would like to thank you for your continued patience.

Some people have asked about the exact extent of the damage. This was a colossal and intense blaze that has completely devastated the site, as you can clearly see from the pictures featured on our home page. We have to stress, therefore, that the contents of our storage units should be considered completely destroyed.

Specialist contractors have been appointed to help us deal with the aftermath, and at the time of writing the site remains closed on safety grounds. For that reason, we must ask that you do not attempt to visit it.

We aim to publish occasional updates here on the website, but if you have any specific questions or concerns in the meantime, we can be reached at
